To access Mintel it is best to use the database link in your subject guide as this takes you straight to the login page. (You can always bookmark this for future reference). Log in with your UCP user name and password.
If you search via Google, please make sure you choose Mintel Academic, click on Federated login, choose Inspire Education Group from the drop down list and then log in with your UCP user name and password.

What are Mintel reports?
Mintel reports are Market Intelligence reports. They are used in industry to find out what products consumers are using and what the trends are for the future. The information is collected through MORI polls (consumer surveys).
They have 3 sections:
Executive Summary
Databook - You can choose to display the headline data for a report in various ways and save them to a Powerpoint which you can then download and use in your own Powerpoint or assignments.
Report Content
This part of the report discusses the data in the databook and gives analysis of what the figures indicate. You can search within the report and save sections to your account to download later.
These reports may also be useful if you want to research consumer trends in a particular industry when applying for or before an interview for a job.
